White Weddings: Celebrating 10 years of serving our community with the best the bridal industry has to offer

Brooke White, owner of White Weddings, originally began her career teaching school. In 2012, she had the desire to open White Weddings, which came as a shock to her husband, Charles. They had just used their savings to pay for Brooke’s master’s degree, but she was familiar with the wedding industry from being a calligrapher since she was 13 years old and knew she wanted to pursue her dream of opening White Weddings.

When getting started, they visited numerous banks unsuccessfully for funding due to being young and lacking collateral. Brooke states, “Taylor Biddle has been a friend of ours since college and was in our wedding. He obviously knew our character, but he also saw what I didn’t yet know about financing a business and connected us with Valdosta State University’s Small Business Development Center to assist in putting our plan and research into writing. Months later, we opened White Weddings thanks to Commercial Banking Company.”

The Whites’ joke that they also had a “PhD”—Poor, Hungry, Determined. They knew they would have to get after it to succeed and they hit the ground running in every way possible. White Weddings’ business philosophy is “More than a Dress”. They are people over policy to their staff and customers and they are about fostering a marriage that lasts forever. Brooke and her staff are passionate about researching wedding trends and collaborating nationwide with others in the industry to ensure they are providing the best the bridal industry has to offer—right here in South Georgia.

“This year makes our 10 year anniversary and we are so grateful for CBC Bank, the community, and staff that have supported us and served the community with us along the way."
