CBC Message System: Fraud Precautions

Fraud and phishing scams are on the rise, and scammers are becoming more sophisticated every day. At CBC Bank, your security is a top priority. Please take a moment to review these important reminders:

🚫 NEVER RESPOND TO:

  • Threatening emails, texts, or phone calls demanding immediate action

  • Job or career advancement opportunities that require payment

  • Unexpected emails or texts containing attachments or links asking you to “click now” or “verify information”

⚠️ COMMON FACTORS OF A SCAM:

  • Requests to purchase gift cards

  • Urgent instructions to transfer large sums of money

  • Demands for payment (IRS Payments, Tolls, or Arrest Warrants) through cash, Cash App, gift cards, or Bitcoin (including Bitcoin ATMs)

Scammers often create a sense of urgency or fear. If something feels off, pause before you act.

CBC Bank will never pressure you to move money quickly or ask for sensitive information through unsecured messages.
