Behind the Teller Window: What a Day at CBC Bank Really Looks Like

When most people visit the bank, they see a quick transaction, a deposit, a withdrawal, or a simple question answered through the drive-thru window. But behind every interaction is a team working hard to keep things running smoothly while building real relationships with customers.

That’s the focus of Episode 10 of the CBC Connect Podcast, where we sit down with Aryana Aviles, a teller at CBC Bank’s main branch, to talk about what life behind the teller line is really like.

More Than Just Transactions

Before joining CBC Bank, Aryana says she knew very little about banking. Like many customers, she assumed a teller’s role was simply processing deposits and withdrawals, but she quickly realized there’s much more happening behind the scenes.

Tellers juggle multiple responsibilities throughout the day:

  • Assisting customers with transactions
  • Answering phone calls
  • Troubleshooting account questions
  • Helping customers understand online banking tools
  • Working closely with teammates to solve problems

The role requires organization, communication, and the ability to adapt quickly during busy moments.

The Moments That Matter Most

While banking can sometimes feel transactional, Aryana says the relationships built with customers are one of the most rewarding parts of the job.

She recalls helping a customer understand a confusing situation and seeing the relief when everything finally “clicked.” Those moments, helping someone feel confident and understood, are what make the work meaningful.

Over time, those interactions grow into relationships. Customers share stories about family, vacations, and milestones, creating connections that go beyond banking.

Helping Customers Feel Comfortable

One area Aryana is especially passionate about is helping younger customers who may feel unfamiliar with banking.

Whether it’s explaining account numbers, helping someone navigate online banking, or answering basic questions, she wants customers to know CBC Bank is there to help without judgment.

Her advice for customers:

  • Take advantage of online banking tools
  • Don’t hesitate to ask questions
  • Learn the basics of your account information
  • Stay informed about upcoming digital banking updates

Looking Ahead to CBC Bank’s System Upgrade

Aryana also discusses CBC Bank’s upcoming system upgrade and new mobile banking experience. The improvements are designed to give customers better tools, faster service, and an improved online banking experience.

Employees throughout the bank are actively helping customers prepare for the transition and answer questions along the way.

Community Banking with a Personal Touch

CBC Bank believes deeply that banking is ultimately about people.

From the teller window to online banking support, those everyday interactions help build trust, strengthen relationships, and create a better experience for customers throughout the community.
